Karma set to Kill

I swear karma only has two settings. If you're lucky it's set on power save mode.

There is no good side to karma, it either forces those who have done wrong to repent, or leaves you alone. Where's the reward for doing good? Sure, if you're a truly good person than doing good is a reward in and of itself, but it's a fleeting one at best. Oh hey, you donated some money to starving kids in Africa! Honestly, you're a good person, and it feels good to know you may have just saved peoples lives, but twenty minutes later, when you're home feeling violent and lonely (nice line Justin Peirre), there's no way some "Thank You" card is really going to make you feel better.

So, what's the deal Divine Entities? Are good people supposed to be complacent with the good they've done? And furthermore, shouldn't you at least be exempt them from the dark side of karma? I'd like to look over my contract again with a good lawyer, because, don't take this blasphemously or anything, but I'm not sure how honest you were with me at signing.

Maybe Bradbury was right

I'm watching the Bears beat the Philidelphia Eagles. There are thousands of people in a stadium not thirty-five miles from me, experiencing excitement and tension that has topped the cresciendo of their week. My toes are cold.

These people, these nameless, faceless people blanketing the stands don't seem concerned about what they're doing with their lives. I see no trace of a guy worrying whether or not he'll ever see that beautiful girl at the ticket booth again. There's no sign of a mother wondering if she'll have the money to feed her kids when her rent bill comes in. Devin Hester just ran a 51 yard return! Why would a kid be worrying about what college he'll get into? Does it matter if you're in love with someone who doesn't love you? No! The Bears are winning by 4 points in the 3rd quarter! This is heavy stuff! Four turnovers? Come ON Bears, you're better than that.

Alright, Productive Night

True mastery of music is having the ability to convey any feeling or emotion you'd ever want to through sound. Understanding sound so thoroughly that you'd know exactly how to make and reproduce a human feeling accurately is something I've always thought was the pinnicle of musical perfection.

Just sayin'.

Hackers

There are a lot of untrue things in the world. There are a lot of untrue people in the world. There's a lot of uncertainty and a lot of guesswork in life. I beg of all you hacks, you fakes, you wannabes, you junkies of disinformation, stop it.

Only let slip from your teeth what you can stand on, so that those of us who do don't have to worry about the poor foundation you have laid.

Lets start over

I opened this blog with a horribly inane subject. To repent for all the time I've wasted in my life I'm trying to cut out that of which doesn't matter. This will not be a blog about coincidences, this will not be a blog about curiosities, and this will not be a blog about anything that will never matter.

One of my favorite stories as a kid was the Phantom Tollbooth, and since the first day I read it I've always remembered the Watchdog explaining to the main character that to waste time is reprehensible, but to kill time is just dispicable. Taking that to heart, I will only write things that will stand the test of time, and only do things that make it worthwhile.
